How much does a Fairtrade t-shirt cost?

This is a question that we get asked very often, and people are often pleasantly surprised. Naturally, there is a small premium to pay for our Organic, Fairtrade clothing, because the costs of producing products to the strict standards required to meet the standards set by all of the certifying bodies increases costs.

In this post, we’re going to outline what increases the cost of a Fairtrade t-shirt, and then look at a comparison between an A.M. Basics t-shirt and an A.M. Fairtrade t-shirt.

Looking at the A.M. Fairtrade clothing range, there are a number of environmental and ethical standards that make our Organic Fairtrade t-shirts the most sustainable and ethical products on the market. They are:

Fairtrade Foundation Certification

Protecting the rights of workers in the factories that are involved in the manufacturing of garments.
Environmental Certification
The EU Ecolabel helps you identify products and services that have a reduced environmental impact throughout their life cycle, from the extraction of raw material through to production, use and disposal. Recognised throughout Europe, EU Ecolabel is a voluntary label promoting environmental excellence which can be trusted.

Comparing single unit costs, bought direct from our A.M. Shop, our A.M. Basics t-shirt costs a bargain busting £2.20. In comparison, our A.M. Fairtrade t-shirt still only costs £4.68.

These prices get even better when you’re buying quantities of 25 and above, where economies of scale help to provide even more savings.
